JEDDAH:  Saudi Arabia has launched the “Hajj Scarf” program to bid farewell to pilgrims after a successful pilgrimage season.

Under this initiative, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Duaa, and Guidance will provide a scarf and various gifts to pilgrims. The “Hajj Scarf” initiative included the participation of more than 100 male and female volunteers.

During the inauguration ceremony of the initiative, scarves were distributed to the pilgrims, bearing various congratulatory phrases.

Arab News said the pilgrims departing through King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah said they appreciated the efforts of the ministry and government agencies and said they were able to perform their rituals with ease and tranquility through the facilities they provided.

Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said it is continuing to follow up on the departure of pilgrims from Madinah to ensure the smooth flow of movement in coordination between government agencies and relevant authorities to ensure their safe return to their countries.

The Welcome Center in Madinah received more than 50,000 pilgrims on 1,200 buses and the ministry said it is grouping them to transport them to King Abdulaziz International Airport.

Meanwhile, Mobile medical clinics are accompanying pilgrims traveling on the Al-Hijrah highway between Makkah and Madinah to provide them with medical services.

Al-Madinah Health Cluster has equipped the mobile clinics with all operational requirements including medical devices, health personnel, and medicines.

An ambulance has also been equipped for clinics to transport patients in emergency medical cases.

Health teams from the mobile medical clinics on the highway have provided medical services to 4,322 pilgrims during the pre-Hajj season this year, and six cases were transferred to Al-Hamnah General Hospital.

The mobile medical clinics will continue to provide their services until the end of Dhu Al-Hijjah, the last month in the Islamic calendar.
