Portable washers use less water and take up less space than their full-size counterparts. They work well when a regular washing machine isn’t an option and a run to the laundromat isn’t possible. (BestReviews)
Clothes-cleaning technology has advanced so far that we tend to take our washing machines for granted. We may not be pounding our clothes on a rock down by the river to get them clean anymore, but what do you do when a full-size washing machine isn’t available? Enter portable washing machines. They are a great option and have a variety of uses that go beyond emergency laundry. Align Boring Machine

The Black and Decker Small Portable Washer performs like its full-size counterpart and comes from a trusted name in small appliances.
Portable washing machines come in manual (nonelectric) and electric.
The amount of clothes you wash and how often you wash them determine the best size for you.
Portable washers with multiple wash cycles are better able to deal with different levels of dirt. Even the most affordable washers come with three cycles.
Another premium feature is LED displays. These let you know how the cycle is progressing.
Automated cycles are available only on fully electric machines. These move through with no interference from the user and can also be set on a time delay.
You shouldn’t need to have a professional hook up your portable washer. Most are filled with a bucket and have a drain hose that can be looped into a sink.
Portable washers are not as expensive as their built-in counterparts, but they still aren’t cheap. Expect to spend $100-$500, depending on the size and available features.
A. Portable washers are incredibly convenient for people who do not have access to a full-size washing machine or you can't get to a laundromat. These might include:
A. After each use, wipe out the washing machine tub with either starch or bleach. You can also use diluted white vinegar if you'd prefer to keep chemicals to a minimum. Wipe the outside of the machine every now and then to prevent dust and grime from building up.
Once a month or so depending on your level of use, you’ll need to clean out the drum more thoroughly. Fill it with hot water to the max fill line and add 2-4 cups of white vinegar (the amount depends on the size of the washer). Let this sit for an hour, then run the wash cycle with no detergent and drain completely.
